PERSON-CENTERED
COUNSELLING

A Warm Welcome

I'm Emma, a qualified Person-Centered Counsellor based in North Leicester.

Are you feeling lost, anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed?

Do you feel like your self-esteem, confidence and self-worth are low?

If so, then counselling may be just the right thing for you.

The main goal of my work is to help you to get back to the best version of you, and to help you feel in control of your life again.

I am currently offering both remote counselling via telephone or video call, or face to face counselling in North Leicester.

About

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"

- Carl Rogers -

What is Counselling?

Person-Centered Counselling (otherwise known as Person-Centered Therapy) is a talking therapy where you, the client, are viewed as the expert of your own life. You are in control of what you choose to share with your counsellor, at a pace you feel comfortable with.

You will be given a confidential, safe space to explore your feelings, whether they are past or present. Your counsellor will listen to you as you tell your story, without explicit advice or direction. You will be heard, and understood, without judgement.

Counselling will help you to develop healthy relationships with yourself and others. It will help you to improve self-esteem, self-awareness and self-compassion. Throughout your counselling journey, you should begin to feel more like 'you' again and are likely to blossom into the best version of yourself!

My background

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychology (BACP).

Within my counselling career, I have worked with a broad variety of people, including those with depression, anxiety, workplace stress, low self-esteem and more. I held a corporate role for 10 years and have previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist, carer and support worker for individuals with learning difficulties and Autism. I have also volunteered for the Samaritans, taking calls from people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts.

I have first hand, personal experience of both individual and couples counselling, and can genuinely say that therapy transformed my life for the better.  I would strongly recommend it to everyone!

My Therapy Space

For clients who would like face to face sessions, I use these two beautiful counselling rooms in a specialist wellbeing/therapy space called Hygge House, based in North Leicestershire.

It's a warm, welcoming space where you will be made to feel right at home.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

It's really brave of you to be making your first steps towards counselling! Please use the enquiry form to tell me a bit about yourself and your counselling goals. I will be more than happy to help you get started on your journey of healing and recovery.

Brighter days are coming.
